English pianist Clive Swansbourne has been internationally acclaimed for his
performances in both America and Europe.
His large and wide-ranging repertoire offers not only music by the beloved masters of the past, but
much 20th-century music as well. He performs both the thirty-two Beethoven sonatas and the four Tippett sonatas.
His playing has been noted for its depth
of vision, beauty and range of sound, and technical mastery.

Series!
To celebrate the 200th anniversary
of both Chopin’s and Schumann’s birth, Clive Swansbourne will present a series
of six piano recitals at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Rice Village in Houston, on
Sunday afternoons at 5 pm.

During the Fall of 2005, Clive
Swansbourne played the 32 Beethoven Piano Sonatas in 8 SRO concerts at the
Rothko
Chapel in Houston, and presented a
corresponding Beethoven lecture series at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

2008 he presented a series of five recitals encompassing all of Schubert’s
late piano music, also at the Rothko Chapel. He has since recorded all of

Besides
recitals, he offers a variety of clinics for teachers and students
that cover a broad
range of topics connected with the art and the teaching of piano playing.
In addition, he offers a series of lecture/recitals on repertoire for the general public,
entitled Classical Piano Matters. These consist of
lectures in which a piece of music is discussed in detail with many musical
illustrations, followed by a performance of the work. Titles from this
series are available on CD or cassette.
